The Football Association Premier League Limited, generally known as Premier League, is recognized as the English Football League System’s top level. It is one of the most excellent football leagues in the world, in which 20 clubs participate as contestants. The Premier League operates with the EFL, i.e., the English Football League. The premier league season commences in August and ends in May. Generally, the games are played in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday.  

History Of Premier League

On February 20, 1992, the Premier League was founded on breaking away from the 1888 Football League. It was founded as the FA Premier League. At the start of the league, it comprised 22 teams, but in 1995, the number of teams was reduced to 20. Since then, the league has become one of the most remunerative and successful leagues globally. In 2019, the league’s total revenue was around £4.8 billion. 

Over the years, it has been influenced by several clubs. The clubs include the Manchester United club with the highest number of titles, i.e., 13. It is followed by Chelsea-5, Manchester City-4, Arsenal-3, Blackburn Rovers-1, Leicester City-1, and Liverpool-1.

Along with the amazing performances of the club, there are several incredible individual performances also that made history. The individual performance includes the performance of Alan Shearer with a holding of the highest goals (260) in the league. Additionally, Ryan Giggs holds the highest number of appearances (632), and Thierry Henry holds the record for most assists (136).
